Surgical masks are intended to keep big liquid globules from traveling across structures or individuals out of an individual’s body. They are designed to prevent suppliers of healthcare coverage from distributing their oral germs to patient you

The N95 mask

N95 face mask

An N95 mask for the respirator eliminates the airborne particles. At least 95% of very tiny (0.3microns) contaminants are taken out by these respirators. The coronavirus, however, has a diameter of 0.12 microns.

So it does get the job done. This is a tighter fit than the surgical mask. It reduces the exposure of small particles like aerosols bigger particles.

Call for action

You should consider wearing a mask when you are looking after someone who is suspected of having a Coronavirus. Even when you are travelling in a crowded area, you should consider wearing a mask. In case your feeling feverish or having a dry cough, you should immediately start wearing a mask to avoid further spreading of the germ.

Wearing a face mask

There is a proper regime that should follow in order to wear a mask safely e without spreading the virus.

  1. The first thing you should do is you should wash your hand with the alcohol-based sanitizer or with soap and water for 20 seconds orally thoroughly so as to remove all the germs from your hand.
  2. Take care that there are no holes in the face and the mask. Cover your mouth and nose with the mask.
  3. If you do touch your mask, scrub the hands with alcoholic hand washing or soap and water. You should not contact the mask during use.
  4. Substitute a fresh one for the mask as it starts to feel wet and don’t use single-use masks again.
  5. To remove the mask and discard it, you should start detaching it from the back and throw it in the dustbin as soon as you do.  After discarding the used mask, you should follow it down with rubbing your hand with any alcohol-based sanitizer or washing it with soap and water thoroughly.

Surgical Mask vs N95 Mask

Though there is no solid proof that using a face mask would protect you from the disease, you can still reduce the spread of the virus using the face mask. If someone sneezes in public, their bodily fluids are more likely to fall on your mask instead of your face. Surgical masks are too thin for the normal public unless you are a health care professional or a nurse; you should probably go with using the N95 respirators.

As we know, prevention is way better than cure why not follow few regimes during this volatile time to walk us through the thin air. Avoiding direct contact with the suspected cases, avoiding unnecessary crowds, maintaining a healthy hygine ritual, avoiding touching your face often can help us not getting the virus. If you feel feverish even after all these, you should directly contact a healthcare professional and get yourself checked up accordingly. Nevertheless, safety should be your foremost priority.
